Our story

by PanelTech Industries

Based in Clevedon, PanelTech carries out the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke fitted furniture for a variety of sectors including residential, education, healthcare and retail. They used a £11,670 West of England Green Business Grant to fund the installation of a new demand-responsive variable speed drive to their dust extract system, as well as to replace their existing fluorescent lighting with LED fittings in the manufacturing areas. These changes have helped to minimise energy demand when other equipment is not in use, while also improving the working environment for staff. As a result of these measures, PanelTech has reduced its energy use by 18%, saving £2,580 per year on its energy bills. PanelTech has reduced its annual carbon emissions by 9.3 tonnes.

The West of England Green Business Grants Scheme offers small and medium enterprises in the region capital grants to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings and/or business operations. The grants of up to £15,000 cover 50-80% of eligible costs. The £1.7m Scheme is part of the Low Carbon Challenge Fund, which is funded by the European Union's European Regional Development Fund and the West of England Combined Authority's Recovery Fund.
