Join Us On The Global Stage

RC

As I write this, the longest ever non-stop relay is well over half way along its route from Glasgow (the host of last year’s global climate summit, COP26) to Sharm El-Sheikh (the host of COP27 in November).

So far, the relay baton has been passed by hand across ten countries as it makes its way across an entire continent. Powered by the ultimate renewable energy, people.

It has crossed the Channel in a water borne relay between the English and the French, on a rowing boat, racing yacht and windsurfer. Rowed and windsurfed by two amazing teenagers, two of our leaders of tomorrow.

The relay has already highlighted hundreds of different climate action projects, led by people who are working together to make the world around them a better place to live. Projects that can be copied in countless other places.

Relay participants have been welcomed in places big and small, from the United Nation’s HQ to remote villages. It seems true that we are far more united than the things that divide us.

And still people press on, even while you’re reading this, determined to take our climate message to the world leaders gathered in Egypt, urging more support to help people tackle the climate crisis where they live.

On Saturday 5th November, the baton will finally reach the venue for this year’s global climate summit – and we would love your support in helping the relay arrive on a wave of energy!

Wherever you are in the world, please join us in an unforgettable event in support of climate action and make our voices even louder. To mark our arrival, we are inviting people in every time zone of the globe to run, walk, cycle or move for 27 minutes at 10am local time on 5th November.

By all joining one Global Stage event we want to show the world we can work together to combat climate change – and call on the world’s leaders at this climate summit to do the same. Please share those running, walking and cycling selfies (#RunningOutOfTime), so we can broadcast our unity to the world and inspire more people to take action now.
