Our story
Naturehood is a nationwide community project from Earthwatch Europe working to reverse wildlife decline.
We do this by empowering individuals to take positive action for wildlife in their own space and giving community leaders the tools they need to make their local area their very own Naturehood.
We provide DIY guides for several evidence-based actions that help wildlife, alongside ideas and inspiration for even more things to do. On our Facebook page, we publish one thing to do for wildlife every week of the year and share fascinating facts about the wildlife and plants we see across the UK.
For community leaders, we offer a step-by-step guide to setting up your Naturehood and bringing your community together. You can also connect with other Naturehood Leaders to share ideas and best practice to make your Naturehood the best it could be. And we'll be there to support you every step of the way!
With Naturehood, you're part of a UK-wide conservation project. As well as being able to take our recommended actions for wildlife, you can take part in surveys that will help you discover all the wildlife that calls your space home. These surveys contribute to our scientific research, which looks at how actions for wildlife can have the most impact. This science directly informs our recommended actions, so you know you're choosing an evidence-based way to help wildlife!
