Monmouthshire County Council has improved recycling capacity following the pandemic. They have opened reuse shops at all of their household waste recycling centres to allow used items to be rescued and sold rather than thrown away. The proceeds from this have funded the purchase of over eight thousand trees, which the council have planted in Monmouthshire.

Monmouthshire County Council have declare a climate emergency. They have built a solar farm, started to decarbonise their own fleet and are retrofitting their buildings with photovoltaic cells to power their own operational needs.
