Our story

by Emer Rafferty - Zero Carbon Tour interview

I am speaking at the Sustain Exchange event in Belfast, one of my roles is the COP26 One Step Greener ambassador and I am working with Translink and the North American Association for Environmental Education. It is so important for organisations and people all around the world to take action on climate change because we are in a position to do something about it. We have a responsibility to care for the planet – the place we have so recklessly destroyed! It is important to realise that the decision-makers and massive corporations that are the big culprits in this have an even bigger part to play, but on an individual level there is so much you can do.

Our advice

My advice, particularly to young people, would be to not be afraid to have passion for our planet. It is an amazing thing to care about something much bigger than ourselves and it is a selfless thing to do. Get out there, take action, campaign, make a difference and have no regrets.
